During a conference organised by the Directorate for Sustainable Development, the Maltese Government has recently introduced two digital platforms designed to promote sustainability and facilitate the transition to a more sustainable economy.
These initiatives demonstrate the country’s commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.
The new ESG Platform - esgplatform.gov.mt - is a voluntary tool intended to simplify ESG reporting. Companies and organisations can now monitor and compare their ESG data over time, aiding in performance evaluation and operational improvements to address challenges.
The GPP online platform - gpp.gov.mt - serves as a central resource for information related to Green Public Procurement (GPP) and also enables interested parties to ask questions about GPP compliance or training. Moreover, training programs will be offered to economic operators to help them better comply with GPP requirements.
Both platforms represent significant progress towards achieving a sustainable economy, aligning with Malta's vision for 2050. Ernesto Soria Morales, Senior Policy Officer within OECD was also present at the event and praised Malta for its efforts to maintain policy coherence in sustainable development.
Francine Pace Caruana, Director of the Directorate for Sustainable Development emphasised that every individual, business, organisation, and public entity has a role to play in this collective effort.
We invite interested parties and stakeholders who require guidance and assistance to get in touch so that together we can design and implement your next steps towards a more sustainable future for your entity within the collective effort.
